This pendant has some oxidation on its face from age, it could most likely be cleaned off but I have left it as is because I find the vintage patina interesting.
Common uses for metals shifted with necessity and availability during WWII, creating a surge in artists and designers using aluminum to make jewelry. Not only does aluminum have an attractive silvery sheen, but it’s also hypoallergenic and doesn’t rust. Most vintage aluminum jewelry was made between the mid 1940’s to the mid 1960’s. Though aluminum is resistant to corrosion, it will oxidize with wear, and fade if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods of time. Your aluminum pendant can be gently washed with mild soap and water.
