1947 Honeymoon Slip, M-L
Stunning vintage gown purchased by a bride in 1947 for her honeymoon. This full length lingerie piece features a sheer chiffon and lace bust (modeled over a skin tone bra). Unlined. This piece does not have any labels, but was passed down from its original owner to her daughter. This dress was never worn after leaving the bride's care, and has been lovingly stored in the years following. Based on texture and appearance, the body of the gown is most likely a high quality rayon, often referred to as "imitation silk" during this time.
This piece has no fastenings or closures, it is a pull-on style meant to be slipped on over your head. No stretch. This dress was mended at the shoulders by its original owner. The repair is not very neat, but I’m leaving it as is to maintain the integrity and story of the piece. There are a few very small spots of discoloration at skirt. See last two product images for details of flaws.
41” chest, 32” waist, 55.5” long.
