A rare shirt from the early days of renown Japanese designer label Kenzo. The brand's designer and namesake Kenzo Takada started his brand Jungle Jap in 1970. He changed the name to Kenzo in 1976 following a New York fashion show in which American audiences found the "Jungle Jap" name pejorative. The use of the combination "Kenzo Jap" on this label indicate this piece was likely produced right around the time of the name change in the mid-late 70's, and includes an illustration of the designer himself.

This shirt is a classic button front flannel, with a few little twists. Instead of standard shoulder seams for the sleeves, this shirt was cut with triangular panels at the shoulder and sleeve seams that start halfway down the arm. Green and brown classic flannel print in a lightweight, textured wool blend. Unlined.
