Black Corde Beadette Evening Bag
A small black evening bag from the iconic bag makers at Lumured. This soft black purse features a metal frame with a hinge top closure and a short chain strap.
The "Caviar Beadette" texture of this purse was introduced to the market by popular American handbag brand, Lumured. Instead of the usual bags from this era made of glass beads strung on a thread and woven onto the exterior of a bag, this style has a soft fabric body affixed with plastic "beadettes." These bags were touted as being chic, affordable, lightweight, and easy to clean. Beaded Lumured purses sold for around $3.00 - $8.00 in the 1950's and 60's, about the same price as a genuine alligator or cobra purse from the same brand.
7.5" at widest, 6" wide at top, 7" tall.
